Happy Labor Day!
My column today gives a nod to Labor Day and my first real job at Hickory Farms where I actually broke a commandment to get hired. My plans for the rest of the weekend involve laboring over the summer's last batch of pesto and the selection of new ceiling fans. (And I may have to pick up some Beef Stick and Sweet Hot Mustard, while I'm at it.)

Great column. You upselling cheese. Maybe wearing a hairnet. Love it!
I think it was one of those 'only over the ponytail' hairnet affairs, which is only slightly better than the Ruth Buzzi look.
