Love, American Style

This funny photo makes me wonder how many of you love - or care deeply about - a person of the opposite political persuasion. And, if you do, what measures do you take, if any, to keep the peace in your relationship during these final days of the election cycle.... or all year long, for that matter. Do you employ specific rules of engagement? Moratoriums? Most importantly, can a Romney fan and an Obama devotee suspend their political animosity long enough for a romantic romp in the hay? I'm fascinated by these "mixed" couples. Anyone want to share??

It is such a hard time of year for couples battling this.We try to watch all the debates and keep our own debate to topics not candidates, but eventually it comes to that!During voting season, I vote early and he respects my rights and privacy. After voting take place we then discuss who we actually voted for. It's less heated when its over. It an American right. My mother and dad were usually opposite but my mother's candidate usually won! haaa Women voters get out there!

I actually saw both Romney and Obama signs in the same yard last weekend. I thought, 'that couple must have figured out a way to co-exist' - equal time. The wife's sign in the photo is more like a disclaimer.

That could be our yard. He told me no Obama sign this time although I still have the original one. He did support putting local dems's signs in our yard. We put all the positive dem mailers on our front door. Husband says the "stop the Brownback agenda" is staying as long as Sam's at Cedar Crest. That's how we do it. We disagree on the national office, but are in perfect harmony locally.

As the Godfather once said, "this is too serious for women and childen". Hence the Romney sign for dad and Obama for mom and son.

If Obama loses his presidency,he becomes a historical parenthesis, a passing interlude of overreaching hyper-liberalism, rejected by a center-right country that is 80 percent nonliberal.

And if he doesn't? Oh my good God!

The gender gap is deep and wide this year, my friends. But remember, Anon, in 2008, 60% of voters were women. And I'll bet not one of them ever quoted the Godfather as if he were a real, live person.

I wonder if billions of dollars of campaign advertising couldn't have been saved if women had made it clear to their husbands(/significant others) of the consequences, for at least the next several weeks, of a vote for Romney/Ryan...

I'm a man and I would have voted the way I was told, unless it was for Romney. :-)

Uh... you do understand what I mean by "consequences" ?? Totally justifiable, one might even say patriotic.

I am a man too. But a house divided can't stand, know matter what topic it is. Eventually it will hurt the entire family. My wife and I are in agreement to who we are going to vote for. We don't base it on who is going after women's votes, or what is offered to women, or gun owners, or unions or non unions, and so on. This is about morals, and how we have been raised by our parents. That sign where the wife and son disclaim supporting Romney and Ryan, shows no public respect to the husband and father and basically throws him under the bus. Come on, lets get real people. And by the way couples, if you are using sex as a consequence or a reward, that is NOT okay. Sex is not meant to be a reward, or refusing sex is not meant to be a consequence. You both got married, for better or for worse. Not to punish or reward each other with sex, but to have sex because you love each other to get married in the first place. That is what sex is suppose to be, not a punishment/reward.

Inn of the Governors

The Inn of the Governors on West Alameda is where my maternal grandparents used to stay in the '60s and '70s when they'd visit ...
