Sh*t My Deaf Husband Says

My husband refuses to get a hearing aid. Not yet, he says. It's not that bad. OK then, I told him. Game on. I'm going to write down and publish all the nonsensical things you say, simply because you can't hear, starting with this morning's gem:

Me:  You didn't snore last night.
Hubs: That was good chili.

(Apologies for the politically incorrect 'deaf'. But, "Sh*T My Hard-of-Hearing Husband Says" just doesn't have the same ring to it.)

I'll be 60 next month and started losing the hearing in my left ear about 8 years ago. The ENT doesn't know why. I've been wearing a hearing aid for 5 years now. Even though my right ear is normal, I'd be lost without it. I miss subtle things and it's hard to hear in noise (e.g., restarants, in groups of people). The one I have is very small and you can get cases in different fun colors. Your husband should go to an ASHA certified audiologist--not a hearing aid dealer. Make him go!

This will be so much fun to read. Glad he didn't snore and that the chilli was tasty.

Hysterical! He'll be shamed into the hearing aid in no time.
