Congratulations! Your hair is lovely, totally deserve to be on the list.
Have never colored (and I started to see gray in my late 20's) My stylist of 25 years has told me that I'm lucky to have the "pretty silver/white gray hair" not the "ugly yellow/gray". Who knew? You have the pretty silver too BG. Maybe if we had the "ugly" we'd hit the bottle! So to speak. :-)
Thank you, jp. AF, I think that's a legitimate point. I had a pretty good idea what my gray would look like because of my father and grandmother's hair, so it didn't take that much courage. What takes steel is seeing yourself in a group photo with other women who dye, knowing you look older than them, and being okay with it.
Well deserved! Congrats on keeping it real. P.S. My Captcha word below has the word "ass" in it. HA! 1st time.
So glad to see your comments.
I'm 60 and in the process of
letting my gray grow out also
Halfway there & determined.
Thanks, Stacey. Hang in there, Anon. It'll be worth the wait.
You deserve to be in the top 10 gray hair bloggers! I stopped coloring my hair years ago and I hear the " if my gray was pretty like yours, I wouldn't color mine." When I was growing my hair out a good friend ask what I was doing and I explained that I wanted to see what color my hair was. Without missing a beat, she said "it's gray!" LOL.
You look fabulous and retirement seems to agree with you.
I think the all white/gray like yours is stunning. It does not make you look older. It's distinctive and dynamic. It's the mouse shot with yellow gray that's not so attractive; that's me. I use a color on my hair called Violent Eggplant. In most light, it just looks dark brown. In the sun it's a radiant maroon. Jeannie Mai on How do I Look has blue/purple stain in her hair. I love that. I did a Husker red stain once and liked that as well. It's just hair. I always wear turquoise or blue nail polish. I've had people tell me they are too "old" to wear that color. I'm 58. I'm not too old for fun polish.
Three words for you, Husker Kim: Essie's Blue Rhapsody. Try it. You'll love it.
Thanks, Jane.
