That said, without Twitter I wouldn't have known about this hilarious and sad blog entry that supports my point. Without Facebook, I wouldn't have reconnected after 40 years with my fabulous high school friend who lives in Milan, with whom I had lunch this week...
That's my friend since 7th grade and her daughter. Yes, she is my age. Sigh. |
Still, I'm reevaluating what Boomer Girl Diary should be, how it can provide a real service - even if that service is entertainment - without all the superfluous, self-absorbed minutia. It might take me a while to figure it out but, in the meantime, I'm cutting way down on food porn.

I love your blog. Don't make me come over there and spank you. xo
And I love you. Thanks.
I enjoy your blog just the way it is.
Appreciate your humility, but the BG blog shares part of your life and experiences. Your readers choose to be here. We can take it or leave it, so to speak. Technology and social media has changed our culture -- I agree. The sense of entitlement and self-absorbsion prevailing in our society is almarming to me sometimes too. Keep blogging BG!
I appreciate the kind words very much, but am trying to be more discerning (discriminating?) with the experiences shared... making sure there's some kind of underlying 'we're all in this together' theme...and less food porn, unless there is an accompanying recipe! Thnx.
