iPad for 2

Enter this nifty little audio splitter that will allow us to watch movies or listen to audio books simultaneously, without disturbing our fellow travelers. I didn't know this little item existed! If only we'd had it on those car rides with the kids.

I don't have a cell phone, but judging from the tech/travel blogs I read, US cell phones can be horribly and shockingly expensive to use in Europe, if they work at all. I think there are work arounds, but I've heard it's better to buy cheap throw-away phones where you buy minutes in Europe. Might be something to check out now rather than die of sticker shock later. David Pogue in the NYT has written about this.
