For sale: 'Father of the Bride' house

The setting for one of my favorite movies is on the market for $1.35 million. This might sound crazy - and I know it's still a recession and all - but doesn't that price seem a tad low for this 4,000+ s/f spread, located 7 miles from Los Angeles?

How could you not love the movie and the house. I agree with you it really doesn't seem out of line even with the declining housing market. Location, location, location.

This is the 1950s original, right, not the 1990s Steve Marten/Diane Keaton version. I thought that was filmed near Chicago.

No, this is the more recent one. I believe it was set in California. 'Sort of remember palm trees on the street. I'm assuming it was the house for the sequel, too -- where Diane and Steve conceived their baby on the kitchen floor. That was a great kitchen!! Judging by the interior photos today, it looks like a stylist did some magic on the place for the film.

Inn of the Governors

The Inn of the Governors on West Alameda is where my maternal grandparents used to stay in the '60s and '70s when they'd visit ...
