A puppy-friendly tree
I knew a full-size Christmas tree with sparkling ornaments dangling at jaw level would spell disaster for Lucy, the curious pup. The solution presented itself with a sweet little (4-1/2 ft) tree marked down to $20 at the local craft store. Placed it on top of my old Italian harvest barrel cum corner table and - voila! - a tree with almost as much stature as the full-size model.

Yep, Bob. The shorter tree got the nod. The dog is non-negotiable by now.
