All smiles, no voice.
Here I am backstage, hamming it up with my fellow performers at the "Dueling Divas" fundraiser for the community theatre last night. The event was a smash and I raised lots of money (sincere thanks to dear readers who "voted" for me - your donations are 100% tax deductible), despite a crippling case of laryngitis that rendered me voiceless. I did manage to take the stage for the group numbers - doing my best Milli Vanilli shtick - but the frozen pipes would not allow my solos. In the end, it might have been a blessing in disguise. The other divas were so seriously fabulous, I was never even a contender. Oh well, that's showbiz!

Great photo of you and your friends. Wow, how untimely the laryngitis! Glad it all went well. Congrats. ps. Your hair looks beautiful!
Thanks, Marg. I was buoyed by knowing I was having a good hair day, thanks to an afternoon blowout (is that the word? sounds naughty!) from my stylist. I realized this morning that I really haven't talked much since getting laid off in November. Not during the day, at least. So, it makes sense that the vocal cords were out of shape... and the cold-into-sinus infection didn't help matters.
Great pic of you all! I so wish I could've been there last night...take good care of yourself!
Oh BG, next time I see you, i'll expect your v.j.j. monologue. Feel better! You look great. Nice blow-out.
Carol, v-j-j isn't for two more weeks. Last night was a singing competition. I'm thinking I may have had hysterical laryngitis (like blindness) because it was crazy for me to agree to in the first place.
Oh, pardonez moi. I am so confused by all your public appearances.
That was very diva-esque of me, wasn't it? I haven't set foot on a stage in ten years and suddenly there are two simultaneous command performances!(Speaking of simultaneous, I am killing those orgasm scenes in TVM. Meg Ryan, eat your heart out!)
Yes we do look great if I might say so... I wondered if this was going to show up somewhere after I sent you the picture. Happy Valentine's day everybody.
BTW, I am the one in the center, yep, I'm not shy... It was a great evening! And for what it is worth, Cathy, you sounded wonderful at the dress rehearsal. When they said you weren't performing I was shocked. Then I heard your laryngitis and it explained everything. Hope you do it next year.
Librarian, I am wondering whether it psychological, although I didn't get my voice back until Sunday. Thanks for the photo. My husband said he enjoyed watching you play; that you looked like you were having a lot of fun.
