Here come the brides!

The fall wedding season begins for us next weekend. I wrote about how weddings have changed since the 70s in my column this morning. Later, I realized that the Ozark mountain wedding I went to in 1978 was a lot like the "Magic Woods Wedding" that my son officiated (after becoming ordained on the Internet) last fall. I guess things don't change all that much, after all.

Great column, as usual. The MOB definitely got things done, back in the day. Mine controlled... er planned my wedding, too, while I nodded and smiled. The florist ran the rehearsal, for some reason, and told a lovely story about brides fainting during the ceremony. That Ozark wedding sure sounded fun. You singing Muskrat Sally and Muskrat Sam. A sweet rodent couple. Aww... things were so much simpler back then.

That was great! But what time did you really get home from your party?

Honestly, Flowers, it was around 12 or 1. It was during the week of the wedding (a Wednesday night, maybe) and we all had to go to work the next day.
