Speaking of lights...

...this is how downtown looks in my fair city. Crews had an early start this year and, apparently, a surplus of strands.  There are more twinklers on those trees than I can ever remember.  My house, on the other hand, is still sans holiday decor.  I just haven't mustered the mood, so far, to deck the halls. Maybe I'm short on cheer. Or, maybe I remember all-too well this horrifying scenario from years ago.

Were these lights put up before or after UCLA tied the game against Kansas? Just wondering! Very pretty. Me likey.

Before. And I wrote you about that. I cannot state publicly what I said in the email for fear of being stoned in the town square by my fellow Jayhawks.

We had five strands of lights that would only light up halfway that were working fine last year. So I bought some of those C7 old-fashioned lights with the big screw-in bulbs. I'm never going back.

jps, I LOVE those big old-fashioned lights. We had those on the tree in my childhood, always with the occasional blinker. Do they still make them - the big ones, I mean? Where did you buy them? Never mind, I'll Google C7 (who knew?) lights. Thanks!!

I love those big old-fashioned lights too! Somewhere along the way I went to the little white lights. Now that I've read this I think I may go back to the multi-colored big lights! Childhood memories!
