Disposable undies?
Thanks to friends/readers who have sent great time-tested travel tips, including this one from "J" which is simultaneously radical and genius: Throw caution to the wind and pack plenty of undies that fall in the category of "I really need to trash this pair" (and who doesn't have a dozen of those in their drawers?) After you wear them each day, throw them in the trash! You've been meaning to pitch them anyway, right? And you'll have extra room in your luggage to haul home the souvenirs! (As I told J, the trick will be hiding the shady shorts from the ship's butler who, supposedly, unpacks and puts away all of your clothes upon embarkation. Some of my undies should have been trashed a decade ago.)

This is a wacky idea, and yet, totally brill. I'd have no undies left.
Sounds like a good idea; however my sister-in-law tried it in a hotel in Italy - the maid came running out to the airport shuttle with a bag for her containing the items she'd tossed!
Anon, that's hilarious. And "brava" for the maid!! My friend actually suggested throwing them away in public trash cans (i.e. in the lobby) to avoid that problem. Clearly, she has thought this through!
I'm going to England and France this summer and am going to use your tip...good travel idea and thanks for sharing.
Nancy, you're welcome, on behalf of J. Sounds like a fun trip you're taking.
