It was a gorgeous night under the palms at Tonic, the hip new-ish nightspot downtown. The back alley terrace bar is the best in the city, as long as you evacuate by 11 pm, when the 20-somethings invade. I sat on one of the bright orange cushioned banquettes, sipping a vodka soda with double lime, chatting with friends and, for a blissful hour or two, felt like I was on vacation.
Sigh. Now, back to my kitchen remodel reality and decision No. 279: What do you think of this little hammered copper number for the bar?
